Raven Juarez

Hi there, my name is Raven Juarez – I’m an artist and early childhood educator in Seattle, WA. Whenever I am feeling stuck creatively, I try to channel the playfulness and willingness to experiment of my young students. I aspire to be as brave and joyful as four-year-olds always are when approaching the blank slate. So, here is one of my favorite four-year-old inspired art activities to get you in a playful, easy spirit. I hope my candidness and silliness in this video helps you to let your shoulders down in this fun, multi-step process so you can enjoy every step and really feel in the moment with me. You just may create something that you really love. Get experimental, and channel your inner child with me!

Materials needed are:

Slime recipe:

  1. Pour Glue into bowl - one or two bottles depending on how much slime you want to make.
  2. Add shaving cream or foaming hand soap - I add enough to cover about 1/2 of the glue. Mix it up!
  3. Add in Activator slowly. Add a couple drops, mix, and repeat until slime starts sticking to itself and off the sides of the bowl.
  4. Mix with hands - add a little more activator if still too sticky
  5. One squirt of Baby oil
  6. Mix in Model Magic or Clay
